EICRAn Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a formal document that is produced following an inspection of the electrical installation within a property. This inspection - often called a periodic inspection - must be carried out by an experienced qualified electrician or approved contractor. Its purpose is to determine whether the installation is in a satisfactory condition for continued service.
|
What Is Involved? The electricity will be isolated and the fuse board will be tested with the cables from the main head (meter) checked to ensure safety.
All cables throughout the installation will be tested to ensure there is no deterioration with 100% of fixtures and fittings checked and tested and 10% of which will be removed for inspection, to minimise disruption. Contact us to find out more.

CodesObservations for an EICR are broken down into the following codes:
C1 Observation means danger present and immediate remedial action is required, i.e. live cables exposed. C2 Observation means not as severe as a C1 but potentially dangerous; remedial action is required, i.e. earthing issues. C3 Observation means improvement recommended; something has been identified that does not comply with regulation but is not dangerous, i.e. no earth in a plastic fitting. FI Observation means further investigation required; the engineer has observed something while carrying out the test that cannot be instantly identified, i.e. an unverified circuit. |
